Arrival
Every journey begins at your own front door - and in order to start your journey carefree, we have put together the most important information for your journey.
Travel by car
Car park
Most MANU accommodation has a limited number of free outdoor parking spaces or standard size garage spaces. However, at some accommodations, parking is not included and must be paid for directly on site. This also applies if the parking spaces provided by the hotel are already occupied. Parking spaces can be pre-booked at some hotels. Please enquire in advance about the price per day.
Compulsory vignette
Please note that you need a vignette to use the motorways in Switzerland. It costs CHF 40 (approx. € 40) and is valid for the entire calendar year. You also need an Austrian vignette to use the motorways in Austria (10-day vignette approx. € 10). The stretch through the Pfändertunnel from Lindau/Hörbranz to Hohenems/Diepoldsau is excluded.
Front door-luggage-Service
Do you prefer to travel light? Our partner TEfra will gladly transport your luggage (up to 30 kg) from all over Germany to your holiday destination. The suitcases are collected from your home 3 days before arrival and taken to the desired accommodation. On departure, you can simply leave your luggage at reception and collect it at home a few days later. This service is available at a special MANU price. Book online at https://www.tefra-log.de/buchungsauswahl, or call the toll-free service number +49 (0) 800 500 23 52.
In the event of delays or unplanned changes to rail services, you may have to change trains at additional stations without a lift or ramp and therefore have to carry your suitcases up or down various, long flights of stairs. Some stations have neither lift nor ramp.
Rail journey
Rail tickets
We recommend that you buy your train tickets early. For long-distance connections, we recommend making a seat reservation. You can usually purchase tickets directly to your holiday destination in Switzerland, also online.
For some destinations, Deutsche Bahn may only issue tickets to the next major station. In this case, we recommend that you book to the previous transfer station so that you can purchase the ticket for the route to your destination there. For example, for the Hotel Tresa Bay in Ponte Tresa, this would be the Lugano train station. If you are travelling to the French-speaking part of Switzerland, choose Neuchâtel station.
Timetables - Connections
Have the connections confirmed again shortly before your journey. It can always happen that connections are changed, for example due to road works or other unforeseen events.
Smartphone – „SBB“ App
If you have a smartphone, download the Swiss Federal Railways app "SBB Mobile" at home - here you can search and check the connections, see any deviations or delays and the possible connections to your holiday destination and back home. Of course, you can also use the practical "SBB Mobile" app on site when planning your excursions and hikes.
From the station to the accommodation
Most of the accommodations are within walking distance of a train station or a bus stop. In many places, such as Davos or Brig, there is a local bus service that takes you comfortably from the station to your accommodation. You can pay for this journey in advance at the ticket office, at the ticket machine or from the driver.
